Kayli McCreanor 2013 Award Winner
The Lee County Genealogical Society has established an annual High School Youth Award to encourage students in Grades 11 and 12 in any Lee County Florida high school program, to become family historians and begin researching their heritage.
At the May 16, 2013 LCGS monthly meeting, Youth Education Chair, Connie Mumm presented the third annual High School Youth Award to Kayli McCreanor, a senior at Bishop Verot High School. Kayli earned this award for her genealogy research submission which demonstrated a fundamental understanding of genealogy research including documentation and biographical writing. At the meeting a cash award of $500.00 was presented to Kayli. Earlier in the month Mrs. Weidlich, LCGS President and Connie Mumm, presented Kayli with an Award Certificate at the Senior Awards Assembly at Bishop Verot High School and encouraged next years junior and senior class to take part in this competition. Kayli will be studying pre-med at the University of South Florida.
